Trout Creek is a small community located in Sanders County, Montana, in the United States. It is known as a census-designated place (CDP). In the year 2000, about 261 people lived there.
Trout Creek is officially known as the "Huckleberry Capital of Montana." The state government gave it this special title in 1981. The first post office in Trout Creek opened way back in 1885. Later, around 1910, the town moved a bit downstream. The community grew when the Noxon Rapids Dam was built between 1955 and 1956.

Huckleberry Festival
The most famous event is the annual Huckleberry Festival. It happens on the second weekend in August. This is a three-day celebration with many activities.
