Truist Place is a very tall building, known as a skyscraper, located in Tampa, Florida. It used to be called the SunTrust Financial Centre. This impressive building stands 525 ft (160 m) high and has 36 floors. It was finished in 1992.
The building was designed by a company called Cooper Carry. It is the 4th tallest building in Tampa. Its design is strong enough to handle very powerful winds, up to 110 miles per hour (180 km/h).
What Makes Truist Place Special?
One of the most noticeable parts of Truist Place is its unique pyramid-shaped roof. This roof has special lights that can change colors. The colors often match the season or special events happening in the city.
Why Did the Name Change?
The building's name changed because of a big event in the banking world. The bank called SunTrust joined with another bank called BB&T. Together, they formed a new company named Truist. Because of this merger, the building's name was officially changed to Truist Place in January 2021.
