Tshopo is one of the 26 provinces that make up the Democratic Republic of the Congo, a large country in Central Africa. The main city and capital of Tshopo Province is Kisangani. The province is named after the Tshopo River, which is an important river in the region. Until 2015, Tshopo was part of a much bigger area known as Orientale Province.
