A Look Back: The History of the Park
Right at the entrance to Turkey Brook Park, you'll see the beautiful Seward Mansion. This old house was built way back in 1858 by a couple named Beulah and Henry Seward.
The mansion was quite grand, with nine large rooms and a fancy staircase in the middle. It also had chandeliers, decorated fireplaces, and a porch that wrapped all the way around the house. The building shows a cool mix of 18th-century stone building style with a mid-Victorian look.
Today, the Mount Olive Historical Society is working hard to fix up and restore the Seward Mansion so it can be enjoyed for many more years.
