Turn Park Art Space is a unique place in West Stockbridge, Massachusetts. It's like a big outdoor museum, a park filled with sculptures, and a stage for live shows, all rolled into one!

What is Turn Park Art Space?

Turn Park covers about 16 acres, which is like 12 football fields. This special area used to be a place where people dug for lime and marble. Now, it's a beautiful space where art and nature come together.

Art and Sculptures

The park is home to many interesting sculptures. Most of these artworks are from a time called the Soviet Nonconformist Art movement, which happened between the 1950s and 1980s. These artists, like Nikolai Silis, Vladimir Lemport, and Nazar Bilyk, created art that was different from what the government wanted at the time. Their sculptures tell stories and show unique ideas.

The park also has a building called the Gate House. This building is used for showing different art exhibits that change over time. There are also plans to build a larger art gallery, which will be about 2000 square feet, to show even more amazing art.

Outdoor Performances

Turn Park isn't just for looking at art. It also has a small outdoor theater, called an amphitheater. This is where people can watch live performances, like music or plays, surrounded by nature.

Who Created Turn Park?

Turn Park Art Space first opened its doors in May 2017. It was created by two art collectors, Igor Gomberg and Katya Brezgunova. They had a vision to turn the old quarry into a place where people could enjoy art and the outdoors. The park's design was carefully planned by talented architects, Grigori Fateyev and Alexander Konstantinov.
