Turtle Creek is a small stream, about 1.9 miles (3.1 kilometers) long, located in southern New Jersey, United States. It's like a smaller river that flows into a bigger one called the Mullica River.

Where Does Turtle Creek Start and End?

Turtle Creek begins in a specific spot at 39°35′33″N 74°29′56″W. From there, it flows generally towards the south and southwest. It finally joins the Mullica River at 39°34′19″N 74°30′17″W.

What's Around Turtle Creek?

The entire stream, from where it starts to where it meets the Mullica River, is surrounded by the Swan Bay Wildlife Management Area. This area is made up of tidal marshes, which are wetlands that are regularly flooded by ocean tides.

The town of Wading River is about one mile north of where Turtle Creek begins. You can find it where Turtle Creek Road meets New Jersey Route 542.

A Change in the Creek's Path

Long ago, the upper parts of Turtle Creek used to stretch further north into the Wharton State Forest. However, these parts have been redirected. Now, they have their own separate channel that flows into the Mullica River, but to the west of the main Turtle Creek we know today.
