About Twisted Typhoon
Twisted Typhoon is a type of roller coaster known as a Suspended Looping Coaster. This specific model is called a "689m Standard." It's made of steel, which makes it very strong and durable.
This coaster uses a lift hill to get to the top. A chain pulls the trains up the hill. Once at the top, gravity takes over for a wild ride!
Ride Experience
Twisted Typhoon is known for its many twists and turns. It reaches a height of about 109 feet (33 meters). The first drop is a thrilling 95 feet (29 meters) straight down!
The ride travels at speeds up to 49.7 miles per hour (80 kilometers per hour). The track is over 2,260 feet (689 meters) long. The whole ride lasts about one minute and 36 seconds.
Inversions and Loops
One of the most exciting parts of Twisted Typhoon is its five inversions. An inversion is when the roller coaster turns you upside down! These include loops and corkscrews.
The ride has a steep angle of 59 degrees on its biggest drop. This adds to the feeling of speed and excitement.
Ride Capacity and Safety
Twisted Typhoon can carry many riders each hour. It has a capacity of about 1,040 people per hour. This helps keep the lines moving at the park.
The ride uses two trains. Each train has 10 cars, and each car holds two riders. This means 20 people can ride at once. For safety, riders must be between 52 and 78 inches tall (132 to 198 cm).
History of the Ride
Twisted Typhoon first opened on May 8, 1999. It was originally named Hangman. The ride quickly became a popular attraction at Wild Adventures.
