Tyler Clark Burke is a Canadian artist, illustrator, designer, and writer. She lives in Toronto, Ontario. She helped start a Canadian music company called Three Gut Records. Tyler has also written and drawn pictures for two children's books.

Early Life and Learning

Tyler Clark Burke grew up in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She went to high school in Kingston, Ontario. Her father was a professor at Queen's University there. She later went to the University of Guelph. However, she became sick and moved back to Kingston. When she was 21, she moved to Toronto.

Her Work

Art and Design

In the late 1990s and early 2000s, Tyler worked as a graphic designer. This means she created visuals for different projects. She also worked as an art director, guiding the look of things.

She took the photo for the cover of Peaches' first album, The Teaches of Peaches. Tyler also designed album art for other Canadian musicians. These included Jim Guthrie, Royal City, and Feist.

Around 1997, Tyler was a graphic designer for a newspaper called Eye Weekly in Toronto. She later became the art director. She even won two awards for her cover designs.

Three Gut Records

In 1999, Tyler Clark Burke helped start an independent music company. It was called Three Gut Records. She started it with Lisa Moran.

This company helped artists like Royal City and The Constantines share their music. Tyler left Three Gut Records in 2003.

Hosting Fun Parties

From 2000 to 2008, Tyler hosted many popular parties. These parties mixed art, dancing, and music. One of her famous parties was called Santa Cruz.

Local news often wrote about Santa Cruz parties. The Toronto Star newspaper even featured them on its cover. In 2007, a writer described these parties as very creative. Guests would get a number and a mailbox to leave messages for others.

In 2009, Tyler and her husband, Jeremy Stewart, hosted special tasting parties. They used a fruit called miracle fruit. This fruit makes sour foods taste sweet! They called their events Miracle Fruit Toronto.

Children's Books

In 2017, Tyler wrote and illustrated her first children's book. It was for Owlkids and called Bill Bowerbird and the Unbearable Beak-Ache. One review said the pictures were "rich with colors."

Her second book with Owlkids was Where Are You Now?. This picture book talks about big topics like death, change, and growing up. Many reviews praised it. School Library Journal called it "important" for kids dealing with loss. Booklist said it was "insightful and thought-provoking."

Her book The Last Loose Tooth was published in October 2020.
