Place of origin Hungary
Main ingredients Noodles or pasta, curd cheese

Túrós csusza is a classic Hungarian dish. It's a tasty meal made with noodles or pasta and a special kind of curd cheese.

People often make the noodles for this dish at home. They mix flour and eggs to create a dough. Then, they tear the dough into small, uneven pieces, about the size of a fingernail. These pieces are then boiled in water until they are cooked. If you don't make them at home, you can use other types of pasta like spaghetti, fusilli, or large egg macaroni bows.

To make Túrós csusza, the noodles are cooked in salty water and then drained. Next, crumbled curd cheese (called túró in Hungary) is added. Crispy, fried bacon pieces are mixed in too. Finally, a thick Hungarian sour cream, called tejföl, is put on top, and a little salt is sprinkled over it. The whole mixture is then heated in the oven for a few minutes before it's ready to eat.
