Uğurcan Çakır, born on April 5, 1996, is a professional footballer from Turkey. He plays as a goalkeeper for Süper Lig club Trabzonspor, where he is also the team captain. Uğurcan also represents the Turkish national team.

Uğurcan's Club Journey
Uğurcan Çakır started his senior career with Trabzonspor. His first big game was in the UEFA Europa League qualifying rounds in 2015. He also played in the Turkish Cup games, showing his skills by not letting the other team score in two matches.
To gain more experience, Uğurcan was loaned to 1461 Trabzon in January 2016. He played several games there, learning and growing as a goalkeeper. After his loan, he returned to Trabzonspor in June 2016.
Becoming Trabzonspor's Main Goalkeeper
In the 2017–18 season, Uğurcan got his chance to shine for Trabzonspor. He made his league debut when he was 21 years old. Even though his team lost that game, his performance impressed the coach. This led to him playing in the last five games of the season, showing his potential.
His big breakthrough came in the 2018–19 season. The main goalkeeper, Onur Kıvrak, retired in January 2019. This opened the door for Uğurcan to become the first-choice goalkeeper for Trabzonspor. He played many games that season, proving he was ready for the challenge. Since then, he has been a key player and leader for his club, eventually becoming captain.
Playing for Turkey
Uğurcan Çakır made his first appearance for the Turkish national team on May 30, 2019. It was a friendly match against Greece, and he started the game.
He was chosen to be part of the Turkish squad for UEFA Euro 2020, a major European football tournament. More recently, in June 2024, he was again selected to play for Turkey in UEFA Euro 2024. He has played over 30 games for his country.
