They also had two songs that reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the United States: "Red Red Wine" and "Can't Help Falling in Love". Changes in the Band
The band's lineup stayed mostly the same for almost 29 years, from 1979 until 2008. In January 2008, the lead singer, Ali Campbell, left the band. Soon after, the keyboard player, Mickey Virtue, also left. Another member, Astro, stayed with the band until November 2013. He then left the original band to join Ali Campbell and Mickey Virtue in a new group also called UB40.
In 2014, the original band members (Jimmy Brown, Robin Campbell, Earl Falconer, Norman Hassan, Brian Travers, and new singer Duncan Campbell) took legal action. They wanted to stop the other group from using the name UB40, because both groups were using it.
