The channel officially launched on August 24, 2014. This date is also Independence Day in Ukraine. From that day on, Ukraine Today began showing news programs.
What the Channel Focused On
Ukraine Today aimed to cover important topics. It focused on what was happening in Ukraine at the time. The channel also looked at how the European Union was growing. It reported on the relationships between Russia, Europe, and America. Another key area was how countries build themselves up in modern times.
When it first started, Ukraine Today had a simple style. It was similar to a channel called Euronews. This meant it showed news videos without any presenters or a studio. The plan was to hire more staff later. Then, Ukraine Today would become a more traditional news channel. This would include having a studio and people presenting the news.
