Ullrich Hall is a historic building located at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville in Platteville, Wisconsin. It is one of the oldest and most important buildings on the university campus.

The Story of Ullrich Hall
Building's Early Days
This special building was first built in 1916. It was known as the Agriculture and Manual Arts Building. At that time, it was part of the Platteville State Normal School.
The building was designed to teach students practical skills. It had many different rooms for learning. There was a forge room for metalwork and a carpentry room for building with wood.
Students also learned about farming. The building included a dairy lab and a room for judging farm animals. It even had a gym for sports and exercise.
A Milestone in Education
Having these special training areas was a big step forward. It helped the state's normal school system grow and offer more types of education. This building was very important for teaching students skills they could use in the real world.
Becoming Ullrich Hall
Today, the building is called Ullrich Hall. It is the oldest academic building still standing at what is now the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. It has served students for over a hundred years!
Recognized as Historic
Because of its long history and importance, Ullrich Hall is officially recognized as a historic place. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1985. Later, in 1989, it was also listed on the State Register of Historic Places.
