Maurice Hicks Jr. (born February 14, 1984), known as Uncle Reece, is an American singer and songwriter. He makes Christian hip hop music. His first album, Bold, came out in 2014. It was released with Obed Music Group and became very popular on the Billboard music charts.

Early Life

Uncle Reece was born Maurice Hicks Jr. on February 14, 1984. He was born in Savannah, Georgia. His father, Maurice Hicks Sr., was in the military. His mother is Cecilia Anita Hicks.

He has always loved music. Uncle Reece studied at Florida State University. He earned a degree in Mathematics there.

Music Journey

Uncle Reece started his music career in 2012. His first song, "Until I Pass Out," came out on March 1, 2012. This song became popular and reached number 15 on Billboard's Hot Gospel Songs chart.

His next song, "I Can't Help Myself," also did well. It reached number 19 on the Hot Gospel Songs chart. It also made it to number 48 on the Hot Christian Songs chart.

His first full album, called Bold, was released on June 3, 2014. He released it through his own music company, Obed Music. The album was very successful on Billboard charts. It reached number 30 on the Christian Albums chart. It also got to number 9 on the Top Gospel Albums chart.

Many people liked the album. Dwayne Lacy from New Release Tuesday gave it a good review. Daniel Cody from Wade-O Radio also highly recommended it.
