Unguía is a town and a municipality located in the northern part of the Chocó Department in Colombia. It is a place with a unique climate and natural features. About 12,192 people live in Unguía, according to the 2018 census.
Climate in Unguía
Unguía has a special type of weather called a tropical monsoon climate. This means it gets a lot of rain for most of the year. The heaviest rainfall happens from April to December. From January to March, there is less rain, but it can still be moderate.
Even though the Chocó Department is known for being very wet, Unguía is actually the driest spot there! It receives about 2,392 millimeters (or 94.2 inches) of rain each year. This is still a lot of rain, but less than other places in the department.
