Union Grove is a small place in Whiteside County, Illinois, in the United States. It is known as an "unincorporated community." This means it's a group of homes and businesses that isn't officially a town or city with its own local government. Instead, it's part of the larger county.
History of Union Grove
Union Grove got its name because there were two very similar groups of trees, called groves, close by.
For many years, Union Grove had its own post office. This post office helped people send and receive mail from 1840 until 1926. After 1926, the post office closed, and mail services were likely handled by a nearby larger town.
