The Story of the Union House Hotel
The Union House Hotel first opened its doors in 1883. It was started by two brothers, Nicholas and Fred Altmayer. They worked hard to make it a welcoming place.
Later, in 1918, a person named August Maternoski bought the building. Over the years, the hotel grew bigger. New parts were added to the building in 1885, 1903, 1918, and 1922. This hotel is very special because it is the oldest hotel in its area that has been open all this time. It has been serving guests continuously for many years.
