UCHealth University of Colorado Hospital, also known as University Hospital, is a major hospital in Aurora, Colorado. It is part of the UCHealth system. This hospital is very important because it is a Level I trauma center. This means it can handle the most serious injuries and emergencies. It is also the main hospital where students from the University of Colorado School of Medicine learn and train to become doctors.

In 2017–2018, U.S. News & World Report ranked UCHealth University of Colorado Hospital very highly. It was among the top 50 hospitals in the country for 11 different medical areas. It was even ranked as the #15 best adult hospital overall in the entire United States.

The hospital has also received a special recognition called "Magnet status" from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). This award shows that the hospital has excellent nursing care. History of the Hospital

The hospital has a history of changing its structure to best serve the community. It was first created as a nonprofit organization in 1989. After some legal changes, it was re-established in 1991 as a government agency called the University of Colorado Hospital Authority.

In 2012, the University of Colorado Hospital Authority joined with Poudre Valley Health to form a new partnership called University of Colorado Health. This partnership started doing business as UCHealth in 2014. This change helped the hospitals work together to provide even better care.

In 2015, UCHealth partnered with Adeptus Health. They worked together to create more emergency care centers in different cities like Denver and Colorado Springs. This included both existing emergency rooms and new ones.
