History of the University

The University of Greenland started in 1987. Its goal was to offer higher education right there in Greenland. It was first in an old church building called Neu Herrnhut.

In 2009, the university moved to a new building complex. This new place is called Ilimmarfik. The university has a budget of about 14.8 million Danish kroner.
