The University of Nova Gorica, also known as UNG, is a university in Slovenia. It is one of the main universities in the country. Students attend classes in the towns of Nova Gorica, Vipava, and Ajdovščina.
University History
The University of Nova Gorica began in 1995. It started as the School of Environmental Sciences. The City Municipality of Nova Gorica and the Jožef Stefan Institute helped create it. In 2006, its name changed from Nova Gorica Polytechnic to the University of Nova Gorica. Today, the university has many different schools and research centers.
