Uno is found in the state of Kentucky. It sits east and a little north of another place called Horse Cave. You can find Uno along a main road known as U.S. Route 31E.
The Story of Uno
Uno was first settled a long time ago, around the middle of the 1800s. The community got its own post office sometime in the 1880s. Before that, it was known by a different name, Clear Point. However, that name was already used by another town. So, they changed it to Uno when mail routes were set up.
How Uno Got Its Name
Locally, Uno was once known as a place where people would meet to trade special items. According to old stories, people who wanted to get these items would say they were going to "You know." This secret phrase eventually became the name of the community: Uno!
