Upham is a small place in Sierra County, New Mexico, United States. It's called an "unincorporated community" because it doesn't have its own local government. Upham is famous for being very close to Spaceport America. This is a special facility where rockets and spacecraft launch into space!

Spaceport America is also home to Virgin Galactic. This company plans to take people on amazing trips into space. Upham is about 30 miles east of Truth or Consequences. It is also about 45 miles north of Las Cruces. The area is about 4,557 feet (1,389 meters) above sea level. Virgin Galactic started its first commercial space launches in 2007.
