Urraca Sánchez of Pamplona facts for kids
Urraca Sánchez was a princess from the Kingdom of Pamplona (which is now part of Navarre, Spain). She later became the queen of the Kingdom of León when she married its king.
Urraca's Family and Royal Connections
Urraca was the daughter of King Sancho I of Pamplona and Queen Toda of Navarre. Her brother was García Sánchez I of Pamplona, who also became a king.
Urraca married King Ramiro II of León. She was his second wife. Together, they had two children:
- Sancho I of León, who later became king.
- Elvira Ramírez, who served as a regent (meaning she ruled for a young king until he was old enough).
