Usquepaug River facts for kids
The Usquepaug River is a cool river located in the state of Rhode Island in the United States. It flows for about 12 kilometers (which is about 7.5 miles). This river is a very important stream that flows into the larger Pawcatuck River. There are also two dams built along the Usquepaug River.
The Usquepaug River's Journey
The Usquepaug River actually starts when two smaller streams meet. These are the Queen River and Glen Rock Brook. They join together just above a small village called Usquepaug.
After forming, the river flows into a place called Glen Rock Reservoir. From there, it continues to flow south through the village of Usquepaug itself. Finally, the Usquepaug River empties its water into the Pawcatuck River.
Bridges Over the River
Many roads and bridges cross over the Usquepaug River. Here are some of them, listed from where the river begins to where it ends:

Streams That Join the River
The Usquepaug River has one main stream that flows into it, which is called Chickasheen Brook. Besides Chickasheen Brook, many other smaller streams that don't have names also add water to the Usquepaug River as it flows along its path.
