What is the Uzbek Wikipedia?
The Uzbek Wikipedia is a free online encyclopedia. It is part of the bigger Wikipedia family, which has versions in hundreds of languages around the world. Just like the Wikipedia you might use, the Uzbek version is built by volunteers. These volunteers write and edit articles to share knowledge with everyone.
How Many Articles Does It Have?
The Uzbek Wikipedia has grown a lot since it started. By July 2013, it had more than 127,000 articles. This means there were over 127,000 different topics you could read about! By October 2015, it was the 44th largest Wikipedia edition when looking at the number of articles. This shows how many people use and contribute to it.
Who Can Use and Edit It?
Anyone who speaks Uzbek can read the articles on the Uzbek Wikipedia for free. You don't need to sign up or pay anything. If you want to help make it even better, you can also become an editor. Editors are volunteers who write new articles, fix mistakes, and add more information to existing pages. This makes sure the encyclopedia keeps growing and stays accurate.
Helping Wikipedia Grow
Wikipedia is special because it's a "wiki." This means it's a website that anyone can edit. People from all over the world work together to build this huge library of knowledge. For the Uzbek Wikipedia, this means Uzbek speakers can share their knowledge with others. They can write about history, science, culture, and many other subjects important to the Uzbek-speaking community.
