Journey Through the Leagues
Västra Frölunda has moved between different football leagues in Sweden. They spent several years in the top league, Allsvenskan. For example, they were in Allsvenskan from 1993 to 1995, and again from 1998 to 2000.
After their time in Allsvenskan, the club played in Superettan, which is the second-highest league. They were there from 2001 to 2005. Later, they moved down to Division 1 (Tier 3) and then to Division 2 (Tier 4).
In recent years, Västra Frölunda has been playing in Division 2 Västra Götaland. They have had some strong seasons, even reaching the promotion playoffs in 2020 and 2023. This shows their effort to climb back up the league system.
