This restaurant first opened its doors in 1958. Back then, it was called Juniors. Later, in 1980, its name changed to VJ's Drive Inn.

Today, John Calogeris owns VJ's. His father, Nick Calogeris, was also a well-known person in Winnipeg's restaurant scene. Nick helped start many other places, like The Manhattan and Kit Kat Grill. John works with his two cousins, John and Gus Razos, who are his partners.
