Valentin Porte was born on September 7, 1990. He is a talented French handball player. He currently plays for Montpellier Handball.
Valentin has won many big titles. These include the European Championship in 2014. He also won the World Championship in 2015 and 2017. A huge win was his Olympic gold medal in 2020. In 2018, he helped Montpellier win the EHF Champions League.
He usually plays as a right wing. But he can also play as a right back. This makes him a very flexible player.
Valentin Porte's Handball Journey
Valentin Porte started his professional handball career in 2008. His first team was Fenix Toulouse Handball. They played in the top French league, called Starligue.
In the summer of 2016, he moved to a new team. He joined Montpellier Handball, another strong club. With Montpellier, he achieved a major victory. They won the EHF Champions League in 2018. This is one of the most important club competitions in handball.
Playing for France: National Team Achievements
Valentin Porte first joined the French national team in 2013. His first big tournament with them was the 2013 World Men's Handball Championship. In 2015, he helped France win the 2015 World Men's Handball Championship in Qatar.
At the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, he won a silver medal. This was with the French team. He was also chosen for the tournament's all-star team. This means he was one of the best players there.
He continued to win medals with France. This includes another World Championship gold in 2017. He also won an Olympic gold medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
