Valerie Van Ost (born July 25, 1944 – died September 10, 2019) was an English actress. She was known for her roles in many British films and TV shows, including the popular Carry On comedy movies.
Early Life and Acting
Valerie Van Ost started her career very young. While still in school, she became the youngest adult dancer at the London Palladium. This is a very famous theatre in London, England. When she was 18, she began working in films and television.
Famous Roles
Valerie appeared in four of the well-known Carry On films. These were British comedy movies that were very popular. Her roles included parts in Carry On Cabby (1963), Carry On Don't Lose Your Head (1967), Carry On Doctor (1967), and Carry On Again Doctor (1969).
She also acted in other movies like The Beauty Jungle (1964) and Casino Royale (1967). Valerie also appeared in a scary movie from Hammer Films called The Satanic Rites of Dracula (1973).
On television, she played a character named Penny in an episode of the spy TV series The Avengers in 1967.
Life After Acting
In 1982, Valerie Van Ost decided to stop acting. She then started a new business with her husband, Andrew Millington. They created a casting company. A casting company helps find actors for movies, TV shows, and plays.
