Valle de Ángeles is a charming town in Honduras. It is a municipality located in the Francisco Morazán area. This town is known for its beautiful scenery and rich history.

Where is Valle de Ángeles?
Valle de Ángeles is surrounded by several other towns. To the north, you'll find the Central District. To the south, it borders San Antonio de Oriente. On the east, it's next to Morocelí and Villa de San Francisco. To the west, it shares a border with Santa Lucía.
The town is about 22 kilometers (about 14 miles) northeast of Tegucigalpa, the capital city. It sits in a valley surrounded by mountains like Los Lagos, El Carrizal, Palo Hueco, and Chinacla.

A Look Back in Time
Valle de Ángeles has a long and interesting past. In 1791, it was known by a different name, "Cimarron" or "the pigsty." It was part of the Santa Lucia parish at that time.
On April 1, 1862, a person named Fray Juan de Jesus Zepeda gave the town its current name. Later, in 1865, it officially became a municipality.
This region was once very important for mining in Honduras. Places like Las Animas and El Socorro were busy mining towns. They produced valuable metals such as gold, silver, copper, tin, lead, and zinc.
