Valle de Zaragoza is a town in the Mexican state of Chihuahua. It is the main town, also known as the municipal seat, for the area around it, called the Valle de Zaragoza municipality.
In 2010, the town had 2,223 people living there. This was more than the 1,871 people counted in 2005.
History of Valle de Zaragoza
Valle de Zaragoza was first started on December 10, 1780. Its original name was Nuestra Señora del Pilar de Conchos. Later, people just called it Pilar de Conchos.
The town got its current name on April 28, 1864. This new name honors General Ignacio Zaragoza. He was a hero who led Mexico to victory against the French army in the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862.
