Vanatta's History
Vanatta began to grow when a railroad line was built through the area. The arrival of the railroad in the mid-1800s was a big deal for many small communities. It helped them connect with other places and transport goods.
A post office was opened in Vanatta in 1857. This was an important step for the community, as it meant people could send and receive mail easily. The post office served the residents for many years, closing its doors in 1955.
