Vandana Luthra was born on July 12, 1959. She is a famous Indian entrepreneur. She started a big company called VLCC Health Care Ltd. This company helps people with beauty and wellness. VLCC has centers in Asia, the Middle East (GCC), and Africa.
Early Life and Learning
Vandana Luthra was born in New Delhi, India, in 1959. Her father was an engineer. Her mother was an Ayurvedic doctor. Ayurvedic medicine is an ancient Indian healing system. Her mother also ran a charity called Amar Jyoti.
Seeing her mother help others inspired Vandana. After finishing her studies in New Delhi, she traveled to Europe. There, she learned a lot about beauty, healthy food, and skin care.
Starting a Business
Vandana Luthra started her company, VLCC, in 1989. It began as a chain of beauty and wellness centers. The main office is in New Delhi.
In 2014, she became the first chairperson of the Beauty and Wellness Sector Skill Council. This group helps people get training for jobs in the beauty industry. The government of India supports this program.
Vandana Luthra also leads the Beauty & Wellness Sector Skill Council (B&WSSC). This group offers training under government plans like the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana. These plans help young people learn new skills.
Helping Others
Vandana Luthra is also very active in charity work. She is the Vice Chairperson of an organization called Khushii. This group runs many helpful projects.

- Fortune magazine also featured her. She was on their list of the '50 Most Powerful Women in Business in India' for five years in a row, from 2011 to 2015.
