Vanderlei Farias da Silva, known simply as Vanderlei, is a talented Brazilian football player. He was born on February 1, 1984. Vanderlei plays as a goalkeeper for the team Mirassol.

Vanderlei's Football Journey
Starting Out: Early Career
Vanderlei was born in Porecatu, Paraná, Brazil. He began his professional football career in 2004. His first team was Londrina. In 2006, he played for Olímpia in the Copa Paulista tournament.
In January 2007, Vanderlei joined Paranavaí. He quickly became a key player for the team. He played in 24 matches and helped his team win the Campeonato Paranaense championship. He also managed to keep the opposing team from scoring in two final matches.
Playing for Coritiba
On May 8, 2007, Vanderlei signed with Coritiba. This team played in Série B, a major Brazilian league. He played his first game for Coritiba just four days later. Coritiba won that game 3–1 at home.
At first, Vanderlei was a backup goalkeeper. But in mid-2008, he got a chance to play more often. He became the main goalkeeper for a while. On October 2, 2011, he played his 100th game for Coritiba.
Vanderlei became the team's main goalkeeper in 2012. On March 28, 2013, he played his 200th match for Coritiba. He continued to be a strong player for the team.
On November 30, 2014, Vanderlei reached 300 games for Coritiba. He made many important saves in a 2–1 win. He played in every league match that season. Vanderlei left Coritiba after playing 301 official games. He is one of the top eight players with the most appearances for the club.
Time with Santos FC

On January 23, 2015, Vanderlei joined Santos, another top-level team. He signed a three-year contract. His first game for Santos was on February 8, a 2–1 home win.
In March 2015, Vanderlei got a facial injury during a game. He had surgery and was out for three months. During this time, another goalkeeper, Vladimir, played in his place.
After Vladimir's performance wasn't as strong, Vanderlei became the first-choice goalkeeper again. He played in 28 league games that year. He was a very important player for Santos.
Vanderlei helped Santos win the 2016 Campeonato Paulista championship. He saved two penalties in the semifinals. On September 28, 2016, he played his 100th game for Santos.
In 2017, Santos extended Vanderlei's contract until December 2020. He also played in his first Copa Libertadores game. This is a big international club competition.
On June 6, 2018, Vanderlei played his 200th match for Santos. In 2019, a new coach joined the team. Vanderlei then lost his starting spot to a new player named Everson.
Moving to Grêmio
On January 18, 2020, Vanderlei joined Grêmio. This was another team in the first division. He signed a two-year deal with them.
