Varnamtown is a small town in Brunswick County, North Carolina. It is located right on the banks of the Lockwood Folly River. In 2020, about 525 people lived there. Varnamtown is part of the larger Wilmington area.

History of Varnamtown
Varnamtown became an official town in 1988. This means it started to have its own local government.

Varnamtown is in the southern part of Brunswick County. The Lockwood Folly River forms its eastern border. This river is affected by the ocean's tides. The town of Holden Beach is only about 2.5 miles (4 km) to the southwest.
