Early Days of Varner
In 1952, Varner was a very small place. Only three people lived there at that time.
A few years later, in 1958, Varner had grown a little. It was home to five residents. The community had a crossroads, a gas station, and a local store. These were important places for people living nearby.
Changes Over Time
By 1975, some parts of the Varner area became part of a large state-owned property. Because of this, the very center of the community is now entirely within this state-owned land.
