Vera is a lively city located in the northern part of the Santa Fe province in Argentina. It is an important center for the Vera Department, acting as its main town. History of Vera
Vera has an interesting past that dates back to the late 1800s.
Founding the Town
The town of Vera was officially started in 1891. Two people named M. Leiva and E. Alemán are credited with founding it. This happened not long after a new train line, the Ferrocarril Provincial de Santa Fe (Provincial Railway of Santa Fe), arrived in the area in February 1890. The train helped the town grow.
Becoming a City
Over time, Vera continued to develop and expand. On June 24, 1954, Vera officially became a city. This was a big step for the community, showing its growth and importance in the province.
Government and People
Vera is the main town of the Vera Department. This means it's where many important government offices for the department are located.
Local Leadership
The city has a Mayor who leads the local government. The current mayor, R. A. Seco Encina, is part of the Socialist Party. The mayor and the city council work together to make decisions for the people of Vera.
