The Museum Building
The Verdaguer House Museum is located inside a very old house. This house was built way back in the 1600s! Jacint Verdaguer's parents, Josep Verdaguer and Josepa Santaló, lived in this house from 1841 to 1847. Jacint himself was only two years old when his family lived here. It's cool to think that you can visit the very house where a famous poet spent his early childhood!
What You Can See Inside
The museum has three floors, and each one offers something interesting to explore:
First Floor: The Poet's Life Story
On the first floor, you'll find the main exhibition. This part of the museum tells the story of Jacint Verdaguer's life. You can learn about his childhood, his journey to becoming a poet, and the important things he did. It's like walking through a timeline of his life.
Second Floor: A Glimpse into the Past
The second floor takes you back in time to the 1800s. Here, you can see how a typical kitchen and bedroom looked during Jacint Verdaguer's youth. It helps you imagine what life was like for families in that era. You can see the furniture and tools they used every day.
Third Floor: Art, Shows, and More
The third floor has a few different areas:
- There's a space for temporary exhibitions, which means the museum often shows new and different displays.
- You'll also find a special area dedicated to an artist named Perejaume.
- Finally, there's a cool audiovisual presentation. This show tells you more about Jacint Verdaguer's life and all the amazing poems and writings he created.
