Trails and History

Long ago, a train track called the Florida East Coast Railway used to run through Vermont Heights. This railway connected the cities of St. Augustine and Palatka. There was even a train station in Vermont Heights.

Today, the old railway line has been turned into a fun path called the Palatka-to-St. Augustine State Trail. This trail is great for walking, running, or biking. You can find two places to start or end your journey on this trail right within the Vermont Heights community.
