Could the Vice President Role Return?
There have been discussions about bringing back the Vice President position in Mexico. In May 2022, a political party called the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) suggested this as part of a plan to change election rules.
Their idea was for the Vice President to help the President directly. This person could also speak in the Senate, but they would not have a vote. This proposal was made as a different option to other election reform ideas.
