Vicksburg is a small, unincorporated community located in Wright Township, Greene County, Indiana. An unincorporated community is a group of homes and businesses that are not part of an official city or town government.
History
Vicksburg was given its name to honor Victoria Hanna. She was the daughter of an important person who helped settle the area long ago. A post office was opened in Vicksburg in 1901. This office helped people send and receive mail for many years. However, the post office eventually closed down in 1935.
