Discovering Villabrázaro's History and Sights
The Ancient Sanctuary of Nuestra Señora del Valle
Near a place called San Román del Valle, you can find the "Santuario de Nuestra Señora del Valle." This special place is also known as "del Valle."
The first time this sanctuary was mentioned in history was on June 20, 970. The building you see today was built much later, in the 14th and 15th centuries. It was a Gothic-style convent, made from strong stone. The very last religious service held there was on August 27, 1961.
