Village has an interesting past. A post office was opened there in 1888. A post office is a place where people can send and receive mail. This post office served the community for a long time, finally closing its doors in 2002.

For a while, Village was also known by another name: "Machine". No one is quite sure why it was called "Machine".

Education for Students

Students living in Village attend public schools that are managed by the Magnolia School District.

Before 1986, Village had its own school district, called the Village School District. On July 1, 1986, the Village School District joined with the Magnolia School District. This change meant that students from Village would then attend schools run by Magnolia.
