Vincent Goes Ahead Jr. is an American politician and a leader of the Crow Tribe in Montana. He served as the acting leader, or Chairman, of the Crow Tribe for a short time in 2002. This happened after the previous Chairman, Clifford Birdinground, left his position.

Early Leadership Role
Vincent Goes Ahead Jr. was first elected as the Vice Chairman of the Crow Tribe in May 2000. This role is like being a second-in-command. He helped lead the tribe alongside the Chairman.
Becoming Acting Chairman
In September 2002, the Chairman at the time, Clifford Birdinground, resigned from his office. When this happened, Vincent Goes Ahead Jr., as the Vice Chairman, stepped up to become the acting Chairman. He took on this important leadership role on September 5, 2002.
Special Election for Tribal Leadership
After becoming acting Chairman, Vincent Goes Ahead Jr. decided to run in a special election. This election was held to choose someone to finish the rest of the previous Chairman's term.
Election Results
In the special election, Vincent Goes Ahead Jr. ran against Carl Venne. Carl Venne won the election with 1,589 votes. Vincent Goes Ahead Jr. received 1,481 votes. Carl Venne officially became the new Chairman on November 12, 2002.
Continuing as Vice Chairman
Even though he did not win the special election for Chairman, Vincent Goes Ahead Jr. continued to serve as the Vice Chairman. He held this position until his term ended in 2004.
Community Involvement
Beyond his tribal leadership roles, Vincent Goes Ahead Jr. has also been involved in community efforts. He served as the Vice-Chairman for the Friends of Plenty Coups Association. This group helps support and preserve the Chief Plenty Coups State Park and Home.
