Violet Jennie Dreschfeld (born 1890, died 1975) was a British artist. She was famous for creating sculptures, especially portraits of people.
About Violet Dreschfeld
Violet Dreschfeld was born in 1890. She grew up in a place called Chorlton, which is a part of Manchester, England. She was one of three children. Her parents were Selina and Julius Dreschfeld. Her father, Julius, was a doctor from Germany. He later became a university professor.
Becoming a Sculptor
Violet went to London to study sculpture. She lived and worked there in the 1910s. During this time, she was very busy making sculptures. She was especially known for her "portrait busts." These are sculptures that show a person's head and shoulders. She often sculpted women.
Exhibitions in Paris
Later, in 1929, Violet Dreschfeld started showing her art in Paris, France. She exhibited her sculptures at a famous art show called the Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts.
