Violeta Ivanova (Виолета Иванова) is a famous Bulgarian astronomer. She is known for discovering many space objects.
She has found 14 asteroids between 1984 and 1988. The Minor Planet Center officially credits her with these discoveries. Asteroids are like small rocky worlds that orbit the Sun.
Violeta Ivanova works at the Institute of Astronomy. This institute is part of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. She made her discoveries at the Smolyan Observatory. This observatory later became the Rozhen National Observatory. It is located on the Mount of Rozhen in the Rhodopes.
An asteroid was even named after her! It is called 4365 Ivanova. This happened on August 25, 1991. This is a special way to honor astronomers for their work.
Sometimes, she signs her name as Violeta G. Ivanova. It is important not to confuse her with another astronomer named V. V. Ivanova. That person works at the Institute of Physics in Russia.
