Virginia Leith (born October 15, 1925 – died November 4, 2019) was an American actress. She appeared in movies and television shows.
Acting Career
Virginia Leith starred in several films, mostly during the 1950s. Her very first movie was Fear and Desire (1953). This film was also the first one directed by the famous filmmaker Stanley Kubrick.
In 1954, Virginia signed a contract with 20th Century-Fox, a big movie studio. She then played main roles in movies like Violent Saturday (1955). She also appeared in Toward the Unknown, On the Threshold of Space, and A Kiss Before Dying (all from 1956). In A Kiss Before Dying, she acted alongside Robert Wagner and Joanne Woodward.
One of her most remembered roles was in the movie The Brain That Wouldn't Die (1962). In this film, she played a unique character whose head was kept alive.
Virginia Leith stopped acting for a while after she married actor Donald Harron in 1960. After they divorced, she started acting again in the 1970s. During this time, she mostly appeared in popular television shows. These included Starsky and Hutch, Barnaby Jones, and Baretta. She stopped acting again in the early 1980s.
Personal Life
Virginia Leith passed away on November 4, 2019, when she was 94 years old. After her death, her body was given to the UCLA Medical School for scientific study. This helps doctors and scientists learn more.
