Rosemary Wahu Kagwi, known to many as Wahu, is a talented Kenyan singer, songwriter, and businesswoman. She is also a former fashion model and actress. Wahu is famous for her amazing music and her strong presence in the entertainment world.

Early Life and School

Wahu went to Hospital Hill Primary School. Later, she attended Precious Blood High School in Riruta. It was during her time in high school that she wrote her very first song.

After high school, Wahu studied at the University of Nairobi. She earned a degree in Mathematics and Communication. Before becoming a full-time musician, she also worked as a model.

Music Career and Achievements

Wahu began her music journey in the year 2000. Her first song, "Niangalie," was very popular across Africa and even internationally. She followed up with other early singles like "Esha" and "Liar."

Around 2005, Wahu released a huge hit song called "Sitishiki." Many of her songs were produced by the famous Ogopa Deejays. She has performed with many well-known Kenyan and African artists. Some of these include Fally Ipupa, Nonini, her husband Nameless, and Wyre.

Wahu has won many important awards for her music. In 2008, she was the first person to win the Best Female Artist award at the MTV Africa Music Awards. She also won awards at the Pearl of Africa Music Awards, Chaguo La Teeniez Awards, and Kisima Music Awards.

Other Ventures

Besides music, Wahu has also explored acting. She played a main role in a TV series called Tazama.

In 2013, Wahu started her own business. She opened a salon called Afrosiri Salon. This salon offers various services like hair styling, manicures, pedicures, and spa treatments. In 2017, she released a gospel song titled "Sifa."

Family Life

Wahu is married to Nameless, who is also a very successful Kenyan musician. They got married in 2005.

They have three daughters together. Wahu dedicated one of her most popular songs, "Sweet Love," to her first daughter, Tumiso.
