Wallington Jr./Sr. High School is a public high school that serves students from Wallington. It's located in Bergen County, New Jersey, and teaches students from seventh through twelfth grade. It's the only high school in the Wallington Public Schools district.
For the 2022–23 school year, the school had 571 students and about 38 teachers. This means there were about 15 students for every teacher.

School History
Before Wallington High School opened, students from Wallington went to East Rutherford High School. This was part of an agreement where Wallington paid for its students to attend.
The new Wallington High School opened its doors in September 1951. It first welcomed students in ninth grade. Students who were already at East Rutherford High School or Lodi High School were allowed to finish their studies there.
The school was officially opened in November 1951. It even had what was said to be the largest gym in the state!
Awards and Rankings
Wallington High School has been recognized for its quality. In September 2014, New Jersey Monthly magazine ranked it as the 223rd best public high school in New Jersey. This was out of 339 schools across the state.
In earlier years, the school was also highly ranked:

School Sports: The Panthers
The sports teams at Wallington High School are called the Panthers! They compete in the North Jersey Interscholastic Conference. This league includes smaller schools from Bergen, Hudson, Morris, and Passaic counties. This league was formed after sports groups in Northern New Jersey were reorganized.
The school also teams up with Henry P. Becton Regional High School for some sports. They have joint girls' soccer and boys' tennis teams.
Volleyball Success
The girls' volleyball team had an amazing season in 1986. They won the Group I state championship! They finished the season with a fantastic record of 20 wins and only 2 losses. In the final game, they beat Bogota High School.
Football Achievements
The Wallington Panthers football team has a proud history.
- In 1959, the team, led by Hall of Fame coach Leonard J. Smith, had a perfect season with 7 wins and 1 tie. They were named North I, Group I state champions.
- The team has won the North I Group I state sectional championship twice in the playoff era: in 1990 and 2010.
- In 1990, they won the sectional title by beating Cresskill High School 28-22.
- In 2010, they won the North I Group I sectional championship. They beat Mountain Lakes High School 23-21 at New Meadowlands Stadium. This win was special because it ended Mountain Lakes' 35-game winning streak!
- Wallington has a long-standing rivalry with Henry P. Becton Regional High School. Their first game was in 1973.
Soccer Victories
The boys' soccer team has also achieved great success.
- In 2009, they won the North I, Group I state sectional title. They beat Leonia High School 4-0.
- They won the North I, Group I state sectional tournament again in 2010. This time, they beat Midland Park High School 2-1.
- In 2010, the soccer team went on to win the Group I state championship! This was the first state championship for the team in school history. They won the final game against South River High School with a score of 1-0.

The principal of Wallington Jr./Sr. High School is Michael Fromfield. He works with a team, including a vice principal, to help run the school.
