Warden Flood (born 1694, died 16 April 1764) was an important Irish judge. He held a very high position as the top judge in Ireland, called the Lord Chief Justice of Ireland. Today, he is mostly remembered as the father of a famous politician, Henry Flood.

Who Was Warden Flood?
Warden Flood was born in a place called Burnchurch in County Kilkenny, Ireland. His parents were Francis Flood and Anne Warden. He went to school at Kilkenny College and then studied at Trinity College Dublin. He earned his first university degree in 1714.
Becoming a Lawyer
After college, Warden Flood went to London to study law. He joined a famous law school called Middle Temple in 1716. By 1720, he was ready to become a lawyer in Ireland. This meant he could now work in the Irish courts.
His Important Jobs
Warden Flood had a very successful career in law and government.
- In 1741, he became the Solicitor-General for Ireland. This job meant he was a top legal advisor to the government.
- Later, in 1751, he was promoted to Attorney-General for Ireland. This was an even higher legal role, like the chief lawyer for the government.
- In 1760, he reached the highest point of his career. He was made the Chief Justice of the King's Bench for Ireland. This meant he was the head judge for one of the most important courts in the country.
- He also worked as a judge who traveled to different parts of Ireland to hear cases.
- For a short time, he was even the Speaker of the Irish House of Lords. This was like being the leader of one part of the Irish Parliament.
A Member of Parliament
Besides being a judge, Warden Flood was also a politician. In 1727, he became a Member of Parliament (MP) for a place called Callan. This meant he helped make laws for Ireland. He had a home in Dublin and a country house in Kilkenny.
His Family
Warden Flood had several children with Isabella Whiteside. His most well-known child was Henry Flood, who became a very famous politician. Henry Flood is thought to have been Isabella's son.
